Free and Pro
What the free plan actually includes, where the limits sit, and what changes when you upgrade.
Free is not a trial
The free plan does not expire and does not nag you into upgrading. Malware scanning in particular is free permanently — a security capability behind a paywall protects the wrong person.
Where free is limited, it is limited by volume, not by capability: you get the whole feature, with a monthly ceiling on how often the heaviest ones run.
Where the ceilings are
Free covers everyday maintenance comfortably. You will notice the ceiling only if you are cleaning aggressively or managing many applications.
- Smart Care runs a limited number of times per month; individual modules stay available.
- Reclaimed space has a monthly allowance shared across the cleaning modules.
- App uninstalls are capped per month.
- Expert modules — Uninstaller, Leftovers, Maintenance, Permissions, Time Machine snapshots and Disk Recovery — are Pro.
- Malware scanning, the dashboard, health checks and activity history have no limit.
What Pro changes
Pro removes the monthly ceilings, unlocks the expert modules, and adds scheduling so maintenance and malware scans can run quietly in the background.
Disk Recovery is the one capability that only exists on Pro. It is also the most expensive to build and the most valuable when you need it, which is why it sits there rather than behind a usage cap.
Working offline
A Pro licence is verified against your account, but the app does not require a live connection to keep working. It carries a signed receipt locally and tolerates being offline for a period before asking to check in again.
If verification eventually fails, iSweepy degrades to the free plan rather than locking you out. Your settings, history and files are untouched.
