Disk Recovery
ProRecover deleted files straight from the disk surface.
Disk Recovery is a signature-based deep scan: it reads the raw bytes of a volume and looks for the fingerprints of photos, videos, documents and audio files — so it can find files that were deleted long ago and no longer appear in any folder or Trash.
It works on internal disks, external and USB drives, SD cards and even mounted disk images, and it can diff against a previous scan to show what is new. The scanned device is opened strictly read-only; recovered files are written only to a destination you choose on a different disk.
How to use it
- 1Open iSweepy and select Disk Recovery under Recovery.
- 2Choose the volume to scan — internal, external, SD card or a disk image.
- 3Pick the file categories you want, and optionally narrow by date or minimum size.
- 4Choose a recovery destination on a different disk, then start the deep scan.
- 5Preview the candidates found and click Recover for the ones you want back.
Safety note
The scanned disk is only ever read — iSweepy never writes to it, and recovered files go to a separate destination. Recovery is not guaranteed: data that has been overwritten cannot come back, so stop using the affected disk and scan as soon as possible.
