Background Items

Free

Agents and daemons quietly running in the background.

Beyond login items, macOS runs a whole layer of launch agents and daemons in the background — some from Apple, many from third-party apps you installed once and forgot about.

This module lists what's currently active, where it came from, and how long it's been running, without changing anything on its own.

How to use it

  1. 1Open iSweepy and select Background Items under System.
  2. 2Click Scan to list active agents and daemons.
  3. 3Review each item's source and runtime.
  4. 4Identify anything unfamiliar.
  5. 5Investigate or disable it from System Settings.

Safety note

This module is read-only by design — it reports what it finds but never changes or removes anything automatically. Any action you take from here still goes through a preview step first.
