Privacy by architecture

Scan results, file paths, file contents, disk contents and activity history never leave the device. There is no telemetry, no crash reporter phoning home, and no usage analytics.

The app makes network requests in exactly three situations, all of them things you initiate or can turn off: verifying a licence with your account, checking for updates to the malware signature list, and the optional internet speed test.

Settings, the activity log and cached scan snapshots are plain files in your own home folder. You can read them, back them up, or delete them without going through the app.

Account credentials are held in the macOS Keychain, which is the system's own encrypted store — iSweepy does not implement its own credential storage.

Reading your Mac's model, battery health, thermal state and uptime lets the app give more specific advice. It is off by default and you turn it on yourself, in Settings.

Even when enabled, that data stays on the device. It shapes what the app tells you; it is not sent anywhere.
