Time Machine Snapshots
ProLocal backup snapshots silently reserving disk space.
Even without an external backup drive connected, macOS keeps local Time Machine snapshots on your internal disk, which can reserve tens of gigabytes without any obvious indicator.
This module lists every local snapshot with its date and estimated size, so you can thin them out when space is tight.
How to use it
- 1Open iSweepy and select Time Machine Snapshots under System.
- 2Click Scan to list local snapshots and their dates.
- 3Review the estimated space each one holds.
- 4Select older snapshots you no longer need.
- 5Click Clean to thin the selected snapshots.
Safety note
Thinning local snapshots only affects the automatic local backup layer — it never touches your actual Time Machine backup disk or its history.
