Getting started
Install iSweepy, grant the one permission it needs, and run your first scan in about three minutes.
Install
Download the disk image, drag iSweepy to your Applications folder, and open it. macOS 14 Sonoma or newer is required, on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
The app is under 30 MB and has no external dependencies — it is built on Apple's own frameworks. There is no installer, no helper daemon, and no background agent installed behind your back.
Grant Full Disk Access
macOS keeps caches, logs and the Trash behind a privacy wall. Without Full Disk Access iSweepy can still run, but most scans will come back nearly empty — not because your Mac is clean, but because the app cannot see those folders.
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access, enable iSweepy, then relaunch the app. This is the only permission the app asks for during normal use.
Run Smart Care first
Smart Care is the guided entry point: it runs the everyday modules in one pass and brings everything into a single review screen, so you can see the shape of your Mac before deciding what to act on.
Nothing is removed during the scan. You get a total, broken down by category, and you choose what to clean from there.
- Open iSweepy — the dashboard shows your Mac's current state.
- Click Smart Care, then Scan.
- Review the results by category; uncheck anything you want to keep.
- Click Clean. Items move to the Trash, not to permanent deletion.
Then explore by need
The sidebar groups every module by what it is for: Cleaning, Storage, Applications, Protection, System and Recovery. You do not need to run them in order, and running one never depends on having run another.
If you are short on space, start with Space Lens to see where it actually went. If you suspect something is wrong, run Malware. If you deleted something you needed, go straight to Disk Recovery.
